Information Collection
All Users
Personal Identification Information
Personal identification information is collected upon account creation, registration for an event, and when creating a profile. Information requested upon account creation is required to create an account and any information requested for event registration is required by the event host to register for that event. Any profile information not requested by a host for a particular event’s registration is optional. Users can always refuse to supply personal identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Service-related activities.
Non-Personal Identification Information
We may collect non-personal identification information about Users whenever they interact with our Service to monitor User behavior on the Service, bolster security, and to assess Service functionality. Non-personal identification information may include the browser name, your IP address, the type of computer and technical information about Users means of connection to our Service, such as the operating system and the Internet service providers utilized and other similar information. Jobs Connected reserves the right to suspend, ban, or take other action against any users exhibiting malicious behavior. By using the Service, you accept this monitoring and agree not to engage in any behavior that could be harmful or disruptive to the Service or other users.
Web Browser Cookies
Our Service may use “cookies” to enhance User experience and may be necessary for certain functionality of the Service. User’s web browser places cookies on their hard drive for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about them. User may choose to set their web browser to refuse cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If they do so, note that some parts of the Service may not function properly.
Profiles
Every user (attendees, representatives, and hosts) can create a profile. Once they have Jobs Connected account. This information includes work experience, education, etc., and is meant to act as a resume for job seekers, students, and other attendees when networking with representatives. You can “share” your profile with a particular group (attendees or representatives) and this makes your profile visible to them.
There are two ways that your profile can potentially be seen by other users. First, other users can search the profiles of participants of an event for which they are registered. Second, representatives can view the list of users that visit their booth. Users cannot search for profiles of other users that are not registered for events or that are registered for events for which they are not registered.
All users (attendees, representatives, and hosts) are given the choice share their profile with other attendees or representatives. When you share your profile, your profile would only be shared with attendees or representatives who have registered an event that you have registered. You can control this in the privacy settings of their account. This setting applies to all events you have registered for and cannot be applied to individual events (you can choose to share your profile for all events you are registered for or for no events you are registered for). By default, your profile is not shared with attendees or representatives. When not shared, the target group (attendees, representatives, or both) will not be able to or view the contents of your profile.
When you share your profile with a targeted group (either representatives or attendees), any information you included in your profile will be visible to any users of that, except for your contact information. If you would like your contact information to be visible, you can choose to share it in your privacy settings. To stop sharing profile information, either choose to not share your profile with a specific group (attendees or representatives) or you can delete specific profile information you would like to make private (your GPA, etc.).
Please note that representatives can view the list of all users that visit their booth and even if you do not choose to share their profile with representatives). This means that when viewing representatives’ booths, your profile will be visible to them even if you have not elected to share your profile with representatives. If you do not want a specific representative or organization to view your profile, please do not visit their booth.
Additionally, hosting institutions can view information for all attendees and representatives of an event that they are hosting to monitor their event and ensure its success. Hosts can view any registration information for attendees and representatives for an event that they are hosting. They can also view profiles for attendees and representatives registered for an event they are hosting, even if they are not shared. This ensures that hosts can effectively monitor events.
Registration
Hosts will collect varying amounts of information upon registration for an event depending on their needs and goals for a specific event. When registering, any information you include upon registration will be visible and accessible to the hosting institution. If you have any concerns about information being collected from registration, please contact the host directly. You can also contact Jobs Connected to report any concerns at support@jobsconnected.com.
Jobs Connected may collect payment upon registration if a host elects to collect payment through the Website or if Jobs Connected is hosting a public event. Jobs Connected never stores any credit card information in its database. When Jobs Connected collects credit card payments for various events, Jobs Connected uses Stripe as its payment processor, which is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available. All information is sent to Stripe, which is then encrypted on disk with AES-256.
Representative And Organization Specific Information
Organization Information
When signing up and upon creating an account, we ask you for information about your organization. Once your account is created and your organization is added to the Jobs Connected database, your organization will be included in the list of organizations that representatives can select to join when creating an account to make it easier for representatives to find and join their organization if it already exists in Jobs Connected. When selecting an organization to join, the organization’s area code will display next to the organization’s name to help the user differentiate between multiple branches or locations of that organization. In order to join an existing organization, a user must confirm that they are part of this organization. To confirm this, a user must sign up for an account with an email that corresponds to an accepted domain for that organization and click the appropriate link in the confirmation email sent to this email. If for any reason you would like this information to be private and not displayed on the sign up page, please contact us at support@jobsconnected.com
You can add additional details for your organization in your account settings. The details for your organization are used to auto populate registration forms to make registration faster for you and your organization to use when creating a booth for an event. Other users can only view this information when viewing an organization’s booth at an event they are registered for if this information is included in that booth.
Booths
For each event they are registered for, representatives and, by extension their respective organizations, can have one (and possibly more booths). Representatives must create a new booth for each event and can choose to include as much or little information as desired. Representatives can copy booths to expedite this process. Booth information is only visible to participants who are registered for the event for which the booth is created.
Job Postings
For each event they are registered for, a representative and, by extension their organization, can have job postings if desired. Job postings are tied to the specific event and job postings for a specific event are only visible to participants who are registered for the event for which the postings are created.
Host Specific Information
Event Information
Any information about the event on the registration landing page will be publicly accessible to any user that views the registration landing page as it is public, meaning that all those accessing the Website can view it. Information specific to the event page will only be available to users who register for the event and view the event page.
